my skin has been looking better than it has in years during past 2 months...i was right 90% of the skincare industry is fake and all you need it retinol/peel, moisturizer, suncreen, and face wash

shit that makes your face slough off
  • the ordinary retinol 0.2% in squalane: i used to use their granactive retinoid but it literally did nothing, and before that i used differin, which is an over the counter retinol that had such a high concentration that it made my skin turn red and crack. so this is much better. i had a 2 week period of minimal acne purge, and now im in the part where it just makes you peely, but its nothing that cant be managed with moisturizer. anyway this stuff is great...my skin is clearer and smoother than it has been for all of college!!!! keep it in the fridge between uses for a fun time.
  • the ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution: i have had many a medical grade chemical peel at the dermatologist, so the burning from this peel is like nothing to me. it is pink/red and smells vaguely like soy sauce, but its really great to get rid of the aforementioned peely bits from my retinol. i have been using this for 5 or 6 months about once a week and it does the job. i also keep it in the fridge for a fun time.

moisturizer
  • farmacy daily green oil free gel moisturizer: okay this is the best moisturizer in the world i think...i use it in the mornings, and it keeps me from drying out all day, and its not oily, AND its a fun pastel green color. also its silicone free.
  • farmacy sleep tight firming night balm: this is also green, and will definitely be a bit sticky/oily after you put it on, but its fine because you are sleeping. face feels  incredibly firm upon waking and i wont have any dry spots.
  • elensilia escargot original repair scream: look it is made of snails i had to try it. definitely moisturizes but leaves a layer of stickyness that will feel increasingly gross throughout the day. better as night time mask to combat retinol problems. also smells weird
  • dear klairs rich moist soothing serum: doesnt leave any gross films or stickyness on your skin but is only an okayish moisturizer. sort of immediately absorbs and leaves you slightly less dry than before
  • olay age defying daily renewal cream: old moisturizer i rarely use anymore because it pales in comparison to farmacy daily greens tbh. works completely fine ngl, and only costs 10 bucks
face wash
  • nuetrogena oil free redness soothing acne wash: another product that is green. has aloe in it which is great for me who is pale as shit and constantly avoiding sunburn...10/10 it works.
  • then i met you living cleansing balm: i will be honest i only bought this because the packaging is sick as hell. however it is great for dry days. definitely weird if you have never tried oil based cleansers before which require a second wash with a cleanser designed to get rid of oil, but it keeps me from drying out, and is fun
sunscreen
  • honey moist sun essence spf 50+: best face sunscreen ever. its so good i have never bought another sunscreen. isnt oily or sticky, smells good, doesnt make me break out, actually works....this sunscreen is my best friend
