this post boldly answers the question: what the hell am i doing on the internet all day???
  • death wish: poem by josh alex baker......im dying in agony over I will never admit what he means to / me. Will say / he was simply a game I could not pass up.
  • adoranten: did you can know you can read scholarly papers about rock art on the internet. been obsessed since i got back from utah.
  • everyone is beautiful and no one is horny: i've definitely shared the link for this essay several times but im doing it again because its so good and also hilarious. "christopher nolan's incredibly sexless oeuvre" is one of the greatest string of words ever assembled in human history.
  • ladyknightthebrave: loved this video essayist for a while but lately i have found myself returning to a bunch of her stuff again after she made a vid about pacrim. i especially liked her jojo rabbit/book thief vid, the last of us vid, and her rogue one vid.
  • fundie fridays: dunking on christian fundamentalism is absolutely a wildly entertaining youtube rabbit hole to go down....jen cracks me up without ever being cruel and im obsessed with the low budget energy of this channel.
  • willie muse's ANTM deep dive: another good youtube rabbit hole...basically this guy just knits and talks about america's next top model season 6. he talks about the show the way i always want to talk about tv with people and i remember this cycle pretty well so its fun but low effort brain food.
  • a left handed commencement address: a commencement speech ursula k le guin gave in 1983 that i have been thinking about for a while....especially "i hope you live without the need to dominate, and without the need to be dominated. i hope you are never victims, but have no power over other people."
  • botw fanart: idk i just keep staring at this. i like it i like to think about it!!!
  • death comes to me again, a girl: dorianne laux poem that has been living in my mind rent free for ages now
  • game of roses lexicon: if you want to understand how it is that i enjoy the bachelor franchise as a professional sports league this wiki page will help you

without school to keep me busy i just am roaming the internet...also i like to keep track of things i enjoyed to i can go back to them later
  • love and anger: new yorker article about parenting i read for some reason that kind of punched me in the face with "What he wanted was all of her attention, even as he also wanted to be his own person. He wanted to re-create the relationship they’d once had, when he was smaller, but in a way that it could no longer be re-created. He wanted the impossible and he knew it and it drove him crazy."
  • mediations on the nature of beauty: humor article that cracked me up.
  • mother nut: still in the middle of reading this due to its novella length, but am enjoying it so far! reminds me of the opening chapter from the overstory about the chestnut blight
  • what is your attachment style?: ive known about attachment styles for a long time but i watched this 4 kicks, boils the concept down pretty nicely and has fun graphics. interesting how it mentions that avoidant people and anxious people have a higher propensity to fall in love with e/o which aggravates insecurity and defensiveness...explains a lot about why when people tell me about their rship troubles im always sitting there like Ok But Why Do You Both Sound Insane. despite everything im pretty sure i ended up with secure attachment style which is pretty epic ngl
  • greta gerwig's raw, startling little women: a nice review that distills much of what i liked about the movie pretty clearly, but im linking specifically for what it says about the ending, which was a surprising near 4th wall break i've never seen anything like in any other movie, which this writer explains pretty deftly with "This is not only a film of the book but also, more stirring still, a film about the book. What Jo ends up producing, for the demanding Dashwood, is a summation of all that we have observed; she writes the film into being, so to speak, mothering the facts and the multiple fates of her loved ones into fiction." it calls into question wether jo going after the professor at the end even really happened or not, or if its the ending she was forced to write, which is the perfect ending imo. I LOVE THIS ADAPTION!!
  • janus dolphin: cool pix of the skull of a mutated dolphin. not sure if this counts as bicephaly or diprosopus but it looks sick as fuck nonetheless
  • all summer in a day: ray bradbury story i remembered from middle school....thought of it the other day, reread it and   ITS STILL DEPRESSING!

  • chosen family: poem/prose that hits both the foundfamily and truelove nerves...i like it well i like it!
  • loneliness: poem originally linked on twt by cee. you can seriously rotate to this forever re: If you figured out why you chose it, years later, would you ask it to go? How would you replace it?
  • have you ever met one?: super short flash fiction piece about ghosts that made me smile
  • only orange: can you tell i got myself a subscription to the new yorker for christmas? this is one of the long fiction pieces in the first magazine issue i got. it was weirdly enthralling although the ending fell a bit flat for me...interesting thoughts to be had here about the people pleasing audrey and the harsh jeanne and the middle ground between them...also quite a few killer lines about family.
  • invisible cities: hunted down a pdf of this shit finally. to be read...
  • postcard to ben, with ben, from paris, kentucky: sorry for clunky google books link...i am obsessed with this poem
  • one of the best humans of new york posts ever: i love wamen.
  • long-time nuclear waste warning messages: aside from the horror from nuclear disaster it is honestly funny that this is a problem people have dedicated time to solving...reads like a poem: This place is not a place of honor / No highly esteemed deed is commemorated here / Nothing valued is here / What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us / This message is a warning about danger
  • tree: i love this series of photographs
  • snow: an extremely low budget song about hating winter in michigan by a guy who lives in detroit. cracks me the fuck up every time
  • when people start talking shit and you have no idea what they're talking about: one of the funniest bja vids ever
  • there will be blood: a recollection of the event that sparked the legendary wings/avs rivalry from the man who got his face smashed in himself. the way this is written is honestly mind blowing like ok kris draper get that creative writing degree ig...most iconic hockey beef of all time.
